The first stags and does were introduced in the Maupoirier farm in 1988.
Located in a region used for its pastures, Maupoirier has a granitic soil, which is healthy for animals bred in an extensive way and living outside all year long (except for the fawns bred inside during winter, in order to be domesticated ).

With 32 does and 2 stags, Jean Pierre DEROUAULT was in the 10 first farmers to get settled in France. Today, the farm owns about 350 animals, including 130 does and 15 stags that have 38 hectares of pastures at their disposal.

The best stags, as well as the does (youngs and adults), are kept and sold for the reproduction.
